•Climate Change – Decommissioning coal generation reduces C02. OPUS’ strategy addresses carbon reduction with the largest impact of any other company
•Ecological Footprint – Environmental remediation of sites and the elimination of the coal supply chain significantly improves the carbon footprint of existing coal generation
•Resource Use – The redevelopment of coal to renewable energy and expanded green spaces creates a favorable environmental impact for OPUS assets and local communities
•Pollution – The goal is to significantly reduce pollution once all coal fired generation is redeveloped
Social
•Health and safety – Once a site is closed and remediated, the community’s exposure to pollutants will be significantly reduced
•Customer responsibility – OPUS will convert from coal fired to renewable generation, thus promoting to its power customers an environmentally friendly product
•Community Impact – OPUS will be adding green space, sports complexes, and reducing pollution, providing healthy atmosphere for the community for years to come
